What is girls’ relationship with learning technologies? How do girls view and use technology differently from boys? How can you use common ed-tech platforms in innovative ways to advance girls? We discuss what current research reveals about girls and technology use, and how to leverage some common ed-tech tools to empower girls in the classroom.

How do we reward girls when they take risks and cultivate their self-compassion for when those risks result in failure? This workshop unpacks girls' relationships with risk and our responsibilities as educators in mediating them. We will discuss research-based classroom strategies that promote and normalize academic risk-taking.

During this workshop, we apply research and strategies that promote identity development in girls. By engaging in both conversations about identity and activities that foster personal growth, girl-serving professionals, K-12 faculty, staff and administrators, and mentors can support the development of positive self-worth.
